Formerly known as USCAR (University of the Sunshine Coast Accident Research) the Centre for HF and STS was officially established at the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2015 with the aim of developing a leading capability in research designed to optimise performance and safety in complex sociotechnical systems.
Our innovative and rigorous research addresses critical issues within work and social systems and involves the application and extension of Human Factors and Sociotechnical Systems theory. The ultimate aim is to support individuals, communities, governments and industry to optimise practice, performance and safety.
