Associate Professor Katie Plant is based in the Transportation Research Group within Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton, UK.
She has published nearly 100 articles and co-authored four books in the field, including ‘Driver Training for automated vehicles: a systems approach’ (2024) and ‘Human Factors on the Flight Deck: A Practical Guide for Design, Modelling and Evaluation’ (2023).
She specialises in qualitative data collection and analysis in field of naturalistic decision making to contribute to the design and evaluation of safety critical systems. Katie is Chartered with the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors and the British Psychological Society.
