Kelly Stewart joined the Centre of Human Factors and Sociotechnical Systems as Program Manager in 2017. In this role Kelly:
  • supports the Centre’s researchers to identify and develop significant research opportunities,
  • coordinates the submission of funding applications,
  • provides local post-award management,
  • establishes and manages strategic partnerships,
  • delivers professional development activities, and
  • supports the Centre Director and other Centre staff in other research-related pursuits.
Kelly joined USC as Team Leader of the Research Development Team in the Office of Research in 2008. In this role Kelly supported researchers to develop projects from concept to funding submission, including project design, application development, risk assessment, budget preparation, seeking of approvals and contract development and negotiation following award. This role also involved extensive interaction with internal and external stakeholders, regular policy, procedural and system review, and internal and external reporting.
Kelly also had the opportunity to act in the role of Manager, Office of Research for a year, prior to the new Director commencing in 2014.
Kelly’s research management career started at Charles Darwin University in 2003, where she supported the Faculty of Education, Health and Science’s research pursuits as a Business Development Leader, and later in a more strategic leadership role as Acting Faculty Executive Officer.
