Guy is a leading academic in the Human Factors discipline with a track record in teaching, research, and consulting. His applied Human Factors work has appeared on the Discovery Channel, Channel 4, the National Geographic, and in a wide variety of other international media. He is the author/co-author of over 100 journal papers and 18 books. He is also the Director of Heriot-Watt’s leading Safety and Risk MSc programme, and Heriot-Watt’s School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society’s Leader of Pioneering Education. He has been awarded the Graduates Prize for the student experience. He is also a member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh’s (RSE) Young Academy, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (FIEHF), a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and on the Editorial Board of the leading journal Ergonomics.
